Deutsche Bank together with the 17th Biennale of Sydney announced details of an expanded education and public program, enabled by the support of Deutsche Bank as Education Partner.
Designed to engage audiences with the themes and works presented in the 17th Biennale of Sydney, the 2010 education program includes special publications, schools events, artists' talks, guided tours, kids' days, outreach programs, transport subsidies and specially designed education hubs.
Chum Darvall, Chief Executive Officer, Deutsche Bank Australia said: 'We are excited to be the Education Partner of the Biennale of Sydney and to contribute to this celebration of contemporary art.
'Deutsche Bank believes that engaging in art fosters creativity and innovation. We believe our support of the education program will help broaden the influence and reach of contemporary art to a wider audience.’
Marah Braye, Chief Executive Officer, Biennale of Sydney said: 'We are delighted to welcome Deutsche Bank as Education Partner for the Biennale of Sydney to support our expanded education program. In 2010, our focus has been to develop programs that facilitate access and community engagement with the visual arts.'
For the duration of the 17th Biennale of Sydney the Education Hubs at Cockatoo Island and Pier 2/3 will provide comprehensive information about artists, artworks, venues, facilities and programs.
In 2010, the Biennale of Sydney is providing a Priority Schools Funding Program Travel Subsidy designed to financially assist priority, regional and remote school groups to plan excursions to the exhibition. Around twenty schools will be subsidised to travel to Biennale of Sydney venues and receive an educator-led tour of Cockatoo Island.
