Deutsche Bank announces appointment of new head to its Australian Metals and Mining Equities Research team

Deutsche Bank today announced the appointment of Peter O’Connor as Head of the Australian Metals and Mining company research team with immediate effect.

O’Connor has 18 years experience as a sell-side resources analyst, together with a decade spent in operational and engineering mining roles. Ross Brown, Head of Equity Research, Australia and New Zealand said, “Peter has impeccable credentials and joins us at a critical time for the sector.”

“With the boom in Australia’s mining and resources sector showing little sign of slowing down and a record amount of investment slated for the future, Peter’s expertise and deep understanding greatly enhances our research capabilities and continued coverage of the sector,” he said.

O’Connor joins Deutsche Bank from Credit Suisse, where as Head of the Global Metals and Mining Team he was responsible for a team of analysts in 14 countries covering over 200 companies. Prior to Credit Suisse, O’Connor was a metals and mining analyst at Macquarie Group following operational and engineering roles with Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton.
