Deutsche Bank has boosted its Prime Services presence in Australia, with four new hires to the existing team based in Sydney.
James Jennings has been appointed Director and Head of the Australian based Prime Services team. Previously the Head of the Australian Prime Services team was based in Hong Kong. Mr Jennings has more than a decade of industry experience, including several years at Deutsche Bank based in London, and rejoins the bank from ABN Amro, Sydney.
Other new additions to the Sydney based team include: Steven Davies, Head of Prime Services Sales; Peter Knight, Senior Stock Loan and Equity Swap Trader; and Jennie Wheldon, who will transfer from Deutsche Bank in London, to take up the role of Prime Services Client Representative in November.
Head of Global Markets Australia and New Zealand, Michael Ormaechea, said the new appointments reflect continued investment by Deutsche Bank in prime services globally.
“Clients are demanding a seamless service from their prime brokers, and we are better placed to deliver that with these new appointments,” said Mr Ormaechea.
The Australian team’s mandate includes prime brokerage, securities lending, direct market access and equity swaps.
Earlier this year the Global Custodian 2006 Prime Brokerage Survey saw Deutsche Bank collect a full house of top ratings, and a staggering 75 Best in Class Awards. In Asia excluding Japan, Deutsche Bank ranked Best in Class in client service, operations, consulting, financing, reporting, cap introduction, technology and value.
